This guide provides links to general reference databases available to students, faculty, and staff. Just be sure to sign in with your A-Student Number and your (6-Digit Date of Birth, (ex., 010179) as your password.

General Reference Sources

Use Credo Reference to find Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Biographies, Quotations, Lingual Dictionaries, Crossword Solver, and Measurement Conversions. Provides online access to over 300 reference books.
Gale Virtual Reference Library (AVL) This link opens in a new window
Encyclopedia articles from subject-specific encyclopedias and reference books. Includes more than 340 academic, subject-specific encyclopedias and reference books.
Britannica Academic (AVL) This link opens in a new window
Britannica Academic has been thoroughly updated with new content and a more user-friendly interface that specifically addresses the needs of college and university libraries.
Alabama Mosaic (Public) This link opens in a new window
This Alabama’s Digitization Project provides unique historical treasures from Alabama's archives, libraries, museums, and other repositories.
OVID (Lawson) This link opens in a new window
OVID provides current, full-text nursing ebooks, as well as bibliographic information.
